City of Lake Elsinore

The Southwest Riverside County Biz PAC sent every candidate the following candidate questionnaire. The intent was to cover as many business issues as possible to get to know the candidate better. We recognize that some response choices may not fully reflect the candidate’s position, but we acknowledged that and asked them to submit the option that most closely reflects their view.

Steve Manos

Candidate for District 2

Q1. In 100 words or less, describe why you are running for office.
Q2. What are the 2 things, that if accomplished in the next 4 years, would make your term a success?

A1: As a resident that was raised in Lake Elsinore, I saw many challenges facing our City. As a business owner and an advocate for numerous causes, I saw an opportunity to foster a professional environment in our City, so that we could stimulate growth, economic development, better public safety, and better municipal facilities, like our namesake lake. These efforts don't happen overnight... I'd like to continue to improve Lake Elsinore.

A2: Perfect Lake management and increased tourism.

Q1. In 100 words or less, describe why you are running for office.
Q2. What are the 2 things, that if accomplished in the next 4 years, would make your term a success?

A1: I'm running because Lake Elsinore is tragically behind in meeting the needs of our region. We need a city that can drive sustainable development and growth simultaneously. By focusing on smart planning, improving infrastructure, and fostering local businesses, we can create a thriving economy without sacrificing our environment. It's time for innovative leadership that embraces modern solutions to ensure that our city not only grows but also remains a great place to live and work. I’m committed to working with the business community to make Lake Elsinore a regional leader in both sustainability and prosperity.

A2: In four years, I would consider it a success if we have a more diverse housing stock and have greenlit multiple renewable energy projects. The next generation of Californians needs more affordable and diverse housing options, and it's a false narrative that this will lower property values. We’ve seen big cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco lead the way in building affordable housing that blends well with communities and raises the standard of living. By embracing renewable energy, we can also ensure that our city is resilient and future-proof, creating a healthier environment for residents and businesses alike.

growth and transportation infrastructure.

A2: Improved water quality in our lake & a world class recreation-destination development in our Back Basin.
